As a military kid , I think we as a group we ar ethe best of the best! There are so many activities, events and things we deal with thatmake us strong ,independent and proud kids. Last night ,Operation Homefront Southern California had me and some of my family (the ones who are home) attend a very awesometacullar event. We went to accept a check on behalf of Operation Homefront , from Wells Fargo. They raised a lot of money to help support them. Operation Homefront helps junior enlist sailors and their families.San Diego Magazine also donated a lot of money from the addmission tickets. We got to try all kinds of different foods, my favorite food was the mini burgers. Robert loved the scallops. And Isabelle loved the strawberry shortcake.after we tried a lot of different foods and talk to a lot of people we went on stage to accept the check. Jay Anderson said some funny words and said some really nice thinkgs about me! After we finished the ceremony,I met a man from the Padres who used to be a Marine. He gave me the best news ever! I am throwing the first pitch out at the Padres game !!!
He told me to practice because it better be a strike! I am practing hard !when we were walking out there was an awesome actor dressed up like a tree, it was really fun and it feaked out my little sister ,because it was walking around. This is another great example of how Military kids get to do great things. I met tons of people and was able to tell most of them how great Operation Homefront is ,and how they help military families and kids.plus we had a grwat time with all the food and music.so after this amazing night ,it really was the best of the Best! Being a military kids Spectacullar! Thanks Operation Homefront Southern California for all you do for us kids!

half·way (h f w , häf -). adj. 1. Midway between two points or conditions: a halfway sign on the trail. 2. Reaching or including only half or a portion; partial:
This is the definition most people use. If you are not Military it doesn’ mean to much or hold as much weight. But if you are a military brat , it holds a lot of weigh!.At the beginning of deployment you are fighting your way up a mountain .Just when you think the mountain is too big to , and you want to quit, no more care packages , the email is always not working and my Dad is missing a lot of stuff. Then your Mom says an important word!!!!
She says it is Halfway! Then all of a sudden it is an easy ride down the mountain. you are in single digits till your Dad comes home! You get to have a party and share with all the other kids on the ship funny stories. We made pillow case with a story on it and sent it to the ship for everyone to celebrate there. All of us took a section and decorated a pillowcase with a story for my Dad. My brother Robert , did a lot of graduation things . He is going to graduate and my Dad is going to miss it. Isabelle decoratede her with my Dad’s favorite things , Beer ,BBQ and baseball. I decorated with things I want to do more with my Dad ,Fishing and Hunting, and football. Actually, we did three extra pillowcases for some single sailors, I drew a ship , Bella drew the ocean and Robert and my cousin did random crazy sayings .
So halfway is an exciting time and to this Military kid it means Dad is coming home soon!!!
Halfway , Halfway , halfway ,I think I might love that word!
On sunday the navy base had an amazing egg hunt. There were 50000 eggs.My little sister and I were really excited because we arent going to be home for easter. Besides the egg hunt they had a carnival for the kids! It was a lot of fun , but I was sad because my Dad is still deployed. My little sister has no fear ! She will do anything,so when she said Nathan “let’s go on the round up , don’t be a scaryed cat! Well, I always ride all the scary rides with my Dad. So , I was think. What am I going to do . If I don’t go , Isabelle will never let me live it down. If I do go ,I might die of a heart attack. 🙂
Then I remember what my Dad told me last time we went to Bush Gardens. When you are on a roller coaster , scream! It is all your fear being released. I was so glad I remembered that. I went on the round up and other really scary rides and I loved them. I wish my dad was there tto see it! He would have been so proud of me !! So , I guess what I am trying to say is sometimes you need to scream, reach down deep and face your fears!
Love you Dada and thanks for the great advice. Look out Busch Gardens here I come!
